Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter revealed that he will be travelling to England to discuss the future of Percy Tau with Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton.

Tau was signed by Brighton from Mamelodi Sundowns before the start of the current campaign, but was subsequently loaned out to Belgian second division side Union Saint-Gilloise due to work permit issues.

Tau, however, has settled in well at the Belgian club. He has scored and assisted with regularity this season and has also carried this form into his performances for Bafana Bafana.

His execution has been so good that many have been asking why Brighton decided to send the mercurial forward to such a low level of competition.

Brighton manager Hughton has admitted that Tau’s future at the Premier League club will be determined by whether he is able to secure a work permit.

Baxter, however, wants to speak to his good friend Hughton to ensure that his star strikers’ interests are being looked after.

‘I want to go to London and I want to sit down with Chris Hughton. I know Chris well, so I want to ask him what his plans are for Percy and I will obviously give my opinion of what Percy’s best doing,’ Baxter said.

‘On my way back to South Africa I’ll go to Belgium and pay Percy a visit.’
