Bafana Bafana have dropped two places to 64th, while Brazil moved to the summit of the latest Fifa rankings on Thursday after a seven-year wait.

The South African national team have dropped from 62nd to 64th place in the rankings, despite going on a 17-match unbeaten run in all competitions. They are now set to take on Cape Verde in their World Cup qualifying match on August 28.

Meanwhile, Brazil reclaimed first place in the latest rankings with 1661 points, ending their seven-year wait to book their place at the 2018 World Cup, following their recent wins over Uruguay and Paraguay.

Argentina dropped by one in the rankings to second position with 1603 points, and now trail new leader Brazil by 62 points, while Germany and Chile are stalled in their third and fourth place positions with 1464 and 1403 respectively.

Colombia have moved up two places into fifth with 1348 points, overtaking France and Belgium, who currently occupy sixth and seventh place respectively.

Portugal and Spain remain in their positions at eight and 10th, while Switzerland made their way into the top 10 in ninth place with 1212 points, replacing Wales, who now move to 13th place.
