Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has named his final 23-man squad for their upcoming international friendly matches against Namibia and DR Congo next month.
South Africa will play host to Namibia on September 9 with kick off set for 3pm in the first international friendly.
The South African national team will then take DR Congo in their second international friendly on September 12.
Broos’ men will use the two international friendlies as preparations for their participation in the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire in January next year as well as the for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in November.
Both matches will be played at Orlando Stadium, in Soweto, in Johannesburg.
“We worked on it in the last seven or eight months to have that squad, to have that selection of 23, 25, 28 players. We have it now,” Broos said.
“In these two coming friendly international matches, we have a few injuries and we can give the opportunity to other players to prove themselves, try to earn a place in the squad.
“So I think it’s a very good situation.”
