Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has named his 19-man squad for their upcoming international friendly match against Uganda at the Orlando Stadium on 10 June.
This will be South Africa’s first game under Broos and also their first game since their 2-0 defeat by Sudan in the final Africa Cup of Nation (Afcon) group-stage qualifying match.
Bafana’s friendly match against the East African side is part of their preparations for the upcoming Qatar 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
South Africa were drawn in Group G alongside Ghana, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia, with their first qualifying game coming against Zimbabwe before they host Ghana in the game that follows.
Staying true to his word, Broos has named a squad comprising mainly of up-and-coming players to face Uganda as he looks to complete his goal of building a squad that will be competitive.
