Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos says he is waiting on his international-based players to arrive after they reported for camp in Pretoria ahead of their final Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Morocco.

The South African national team are set to host the Moroccans at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday, June 17.

Both South Africa and Morocco have already qualified for the continental competition which is set to be held in Côte d’Ivoire on 13 January – 11 February 2024.

The Bafana coach cut 11 players from the team, including Khanyisa Mayo, Iqraam Rayners, Miguel Timm, Khuliso Mudau and Kobamelo Kodisang, while Njabulo Blom makes his return to the squad.

Broos revealed that the only players that has to report for camp are Percy Tau, Njabulo Blom, Bongokuhle Hlongwane and Luke Le Roux, respectively.

“We have a great group of players who work well together and will give anything to win,” Broos told Safa.net.

“We are only waiting for the international-based players to arrive in camp – they are Percy Tau, Njabulo Blom, Bongokuhle Hlongwane and Luke Le Roux. Everyone knows what is expected of them and while we respect Morocco, we need to focus on our game.”
