Rivaldo Coetzee gets away from Eleazar Rodgers

Bafana Bafana defender Rivaldo Coetzee will miss out on the international friendly against Mozambique due to injury.

The 20-year-old is sidelined with an ankle injury. It remains unclear whether Coetzee was injured during training or during Bafana’s  2-1 victory over Senegal in the World Cup qualifier.

Assistant coach Owen Da Gama will now have to rejig his back four. He may opt to utilise Kaizer Chiefs defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele in the right-back position to replace Coetzee, with captain Thulani Hlatshwayo moving into a more central role.

No details about Coetzee’s injury are known. It remains unclear if he will feature for Ajax Cape Town in their Absa Premiership clash with Maritzburg United on Saturday.

The match at Estadio Nacional do Zimpeto kicks off at 19:00.
