KV Kortrijk striker Lars Veldwijk has been named in starting lineup for the friendly match against Mozambique on Tuesday.

Veldwijk’s inclusion in the squad to face Senegal in the crucial 2018 World Cup qualifier sparked interest, but coach Shakes Mashaba opted for the experience of Eleazar Rodgers up front with Thulani Serero behind him.

With Mashaba suspended, his assistant Owen da Gama is in charge for the clash with Mozambique at the Estadio Nacional do Zimpeto Stadium. Da Gama had earlier hinted at a number of changes, and injuries and rotation produced his new-look team.

Belgium-based forward Veldwijk starts in place of Rodgers with Thuso Phala his attacking aide, coming in for Serero.

At the back, Ronwen Williams has a chance in goals with Itumeleng Khune rested, while Williams’ SuperSport United teammate Clayton Daniels is promoted to start in place of injured Rivaldo Coetzee.

Andile Jali’s injury gives Mahlangu the opportunity to impress the technical team along with Daine Klate. The Bidvest Wits playmaker will start his second game for the national team eleven years since his debut against Honduras.

Mamelodi Sundowns are represented by Tiyani Mabunda, Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Hlompho Kekana.

The match kicks off at 19:00.

Bafana Bafana starting lineup:

Ronwen Williams, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Eric Mathoho, Clayton Daniels, Thulani Hlatshwayo (c), Daine Klate, Tiyani Mabunda, Hlompho Kekana, Thuso Phala, May Mahlangu, Lars Veldwijk.

Mhlongo, Khune, Mbekile, Dolly, Makola, Patosi, Vilakazi, Serero, Rodgers, Grobler.
