Bafana Bafana’s Clayton Daniels believes Saturday’s clash with Senegal will be the ‘toughest encounter’ of his career.

The 32-year-old SuperSport United defender is framed to start the crucial World Cup qualifier at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, and has highlighted the opposition’s quality.

‘Personally, I think this will be my toughest encounter for the national team because of the quality of the team we’re playing against,’ Daniels told KickOff.

‘I think the fact that there is such a lot at stake Senegal will come at us hard. They will obviously try and play with high intensity to keep us on the back foot.

‘Their attacking prowess will definitely keep us on our toes and we could be in for a very busy afternoon. I’m preparing for my toughest test in a Bafana jersey.’

Liverpool playmaker Sadio Mane is likely to lead the Lions of Teranga’s pursuit of three valuable points, a result which could almost end South Africa’s hopes of booking a place at Russia 2018.

Senegal are currently top of Group D with three points after the opening round. Bafana Bafana have one point after the draw against Burkina Faso.

The match kicks off at 15:00.
