Molefi Ntseki’s team were looking for their first win of the qualification campaign after a 2-0 loss away against Ghana on Thursday evening.

Bafana squandered a number of first-half chances until midfielder Lebogang Phiri rounded off a sweeping move to fire his side into the lead.

The South Africans then struggled in the second half as a tough week of travelling caught up with them, but managed to stay defensively secure as they saw out the game to get their qualification campaign up and running.
