Bafana Bafana captain Thulani Hlatshwayo says his side needs to learn from their errors after conceding a late goal against Burkina Faso in their World Cup qualifier match on Saturday.
Shakes Mashaba’s side were forced to play out to a 1-1 draw with the Stallons in their opening Group Stage match at the Stade du 4 Aout.
The Bidvest Wits skipper insists that Bafana Bafana needs to learn from their mistake to prevent conceding in which the way they did against the Stallons.
‘We need to learn from such errors. We can’t continue giving away silly goals like that if we want to go far. We were seconds away from victory but threw the game away,’ Hlatshwayo said.
Hlatshwayo says the technical team has emphasised the need to tighten things up especially towards the dying minutes but again conceded a late goal as the match ended in a draw.
‘Hopefully we have learnt a bitter lesson and that is something that should never be repeated again,’ he added.
Bafana Bafana will now take on Ghana in an international friendly match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday.
