Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba is disappointed in Pitso Mosimane’s reluctance to grant his players for the national side’s squad.
Mosimane is reportedly unhappy that a whole host of his stars have been called to report for the national side in a dead rubber contest, followed by a friendly against Egypt, reports KickOff.
Sundowns stars Tebogo Langerman, Thapelo Morena, Keagan Dolly, Hlompho Kekana and Sibusiso Vilakazi have all been called up for Mashaba, while the Brazilians are unhappy as they face a host of competitive fixtures in the upcoming month.
Most dauntingly of all, Sundowns face a two-legged tie against Zesco United the Caf Champions League semi-finals.
‘Unfortunately, nothing has come to us,’ Mashaba said, when asked if Sundowns had specifically requested their stars be rested.
‘We are open. We are operating on an open door policy. If there is anyone who wants to talk to us, they can come to us and say it. But that is what has happened, and I am disappointed because we operate on an open door policy.’
Mashaba insists he is open to the resting certain stars if requested.
Anyone who has got something to talk to us about, we are always available. If they want to request something, let them send it and then we will sit down and deal with it,’ he concluded.
Bafana face Mauritania in Afcon qualifier at the Mbombela Stadium on September 2nd, despite neither side standing any hope of qualifying.
Kick-off is at 19:05.
