Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba has revealed that he will be accompanying Mamelodi Sundowns to Egypt when they take on Zamalek in the Caf Champions League second leg this weekend.
The Brazilians are strong favourites to win Africa’s most prestigious competition following their 3-0 victory in the first-leg of the finals.
Mashaba has revealed that he was invited to join Sundowns in Egypt by clubs president to give the team moral support as they are one step closer to lifting the African title.
‘It was a great gesture and having spoken to coach Pitso (Mosimane) in the presence of club president Patrice Motsepe, we agreed that I should accompany the team to Alexandria and give the boys moral support,’ Mashaba said.
‘This is good for the country, good for the national team and the entire football family will enjoy the general spin-offs from such good showing.’
Mamelodi Sundowns will now travel to the Borg el arab when they take on Zamalek in the second leg of the Caf Champions League on Sunday.
Kick-off has been set for 20:30.
