Bafana Bafana defender Eric Mathoho believes there are no friendly games in national team colours ahead of their clash against Mozambique on Tuesday.

Bafana Bafana is set to take on Os Mambas in an international friendly match at Estadio Nacional do Zimpeto in Maputo.

The 26-year-old believes Shakes Mashaba’s side should always give it their all, whether it’s a friendly match or a cup competition.

‘There are no friendly games in national team colours,’ Mathoho told the Kaizer Chiefs website.

‘We have to protect and hold high the national flag every time we walk on the pitch in national colours.’

South Africa is going into this friendly match following a hard fought 2-1 victory against Senegal in a 2018 World Cup Russia qualifier.

Kick-off has been set for 19:00.
