Cape Town City midfielder Judas Moseamedi says he feels honoured to have been called up by the South African national team for the upcoming Cosafa Cup.
Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter recently brought in Jamie Webber and Mohau Mokate after Mandla Masango and Lebogang Phiri were not released by their respective clubs.
Meanwhile, Moseamedi says he feels honoured to have been named in South Africa’s 20-man squad for the 2017 Cosafa Cup, which will take place in Rustenburg between 25 June and 9 July.
‘For me, it’s a great feeling to be called up to the national team for the Cosafa Cup,’ Moseamedi said.
South Africa will join the competition in the quarter-finals when they face the winner of Group A, which includes the likes of Tanzania, Malawi, Mauritius and Angola.
The quarter-final encounter is expected to take place at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on 2 July 2017, with kick-off scheduled for 17:00.
A win for Bafana Bafana will see them facing the winners of the Botswana versus Zambia encounter on 5 July, where a victory will see them qualify for the final, which will take place at Royal Bafokeng Stadium on 9 July.
