The Bafana Bafana coach has recently been linked with a return to the Naturena-based outfit, having previously enjoyed a successful with the Soweto giants after winning two Absa Premiership titles, MTN8 trophy and the Nedbank Cup during his time at the club.

Safa CEO Dennis Mumble confirmed Chiefs have not made any contact with Baxter while declaring the Bafana coach still has a five-year deal with the association.

‘We’ll continue not to say anything about it because it’s not something that affects us right now. There’s nothing on the table,’ Mumble told the media.

‘Discussions are not on the table, we are not going to address it and whoever it is that started [the rumours] will have to go out and explain to the public why they started that. But we are not going to say anything about that now, there’s nothing on the table.

‘We signed the coach for five years and he’s got a contract until 2022 after the World Cup [in Qatar]. You know that we’ve always signed coaches for the long haul.

‘As far as I’m concerned, Stuart Baxter is our coach and we are not going to say anything anymore about that.’
