Kaizer Chiefs defender Njabulo Ngcobo is confident Bafana Bafana will remain top of Group G and proceed to the next round of Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
The 27-year-old made two appearances in the group stages and was named on the bench against Zimbabwe and Ethiopia in the first leg.
However, Ngcobo put in a stellar performance in central midfield during their 1-0 victory over Ethiopia in the second leg at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday, as Bafana cemented top spot in the group ahead of Ghana’s Black Stars.
Ngcobo is pleased to have played his part in helping South Africa secure three consecutive victories in their Fifa World Cup Group G qualifying matches.
“We did very well. We can do much better, but everything is on track. It was important to win because we were at home,” Ngcobo told his club’s official website.
“I was happy to get some minutes. It is important to play. I think that I am getting there.
“I am confident we will stay No 1 till the end.”
