Bafana Bafana icon Lucas Radebe admits that Morocco will be South Africa’s biggest threat in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations group-stage qualifiers.

The South African national team were drawn in Group K alongside group favourites Morocco, neighbours Zimbabwe and Liberia.

The group-stage qualifiers is scheduled to start in June this year as South Africa looks to book their place in Ivory Coast in 2023.

Radebe is confident South Africa can deal with rivals Zimbabwe, labelling Morocco the team to beat in the group.

“I think we are capable, we just need to beat Morocco,” Radebehe told SuperSport TV after the conclusion of the draw.

“As for our neighbours [Zimbabwe], we can deal with them. We have most of them here.

“It’s going to be exciting, they [Zimbabwe] will be looking forward [to winning the games]. But, I also think they will go for us and then Morocco.”

Meanwhile, former Cote d’Ivoire and Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou echoed Radebe in believing Bafana has a good chance of qualifying in the group.

“Bafana Bafana is a top team and they need to come back to the frontline,” Kalou told SuperSport TV.

“I think they are capable of qualifying in this group as I agree with what Lucas [Radebe] said.”
