Bafana Bafana Cosafa coach Morena Ramoreboli has urged his side to build on their performance following their 2-1 victory over Botswana at the King Zwelithini Stadium in the Cosafa Cup.

South Africa claimed their first win in the Cosafa Cup when Iqraam Rayners and Shaune Mogaila called out Thatayaone Kgamanyane’s opening goal in Durban.

Ramoreboli’s charges have now moved up to the top spot in Group A with four points while Botswana find themselves sitting in second place a point behind South Africa

The South African national team are now set to take on Eswatini in their final Group A encounter which is scheduled to take place at Princess Magogo Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Ramoreboli says he was pleased with his side’s performance and is now focused on bettering their performance when they take on Eswatini.

“I think it was bound to happen. We kept on trying, trying and for a change today we decided not to make any change when we came back from halftime because we felt it was almost there,” Ramoreboli told SuperSport TV.

“And we’re trying to build momentum and sometimes when you win matches likes this it is the only way to build confidence and believe that we can go through.

“So, I think honestly speaking credit to the guys. The boys did well. Defensively, offensively they fought and I think the biggest mistake that we make we allowed them sometimes to receive balls behind our defence and that was very dangerous for us.

“But I think honestly speaking the overall performance is much better than the overall performance we showed in the first match but look I’m happy and I think we’re building on a performance after every game.

“So’ I’m very happy with the victory. We needed this victory so that at least we go into the next match with confidence.”
