South Africa climbed to the top of Group A in the Cosafa Cup following a 2-1 victory over 10-man Botswana at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday.

The host nation went on a goal in the 63rd minute when Thatayaone Kgamanyane found the back of the net to hand the Zebras the lead.

South Africa drew the game level three minutes later when Iqraam Rayners slotted the ball home from the penalty spot after Tebogo Kopelang was sent off for a foul in the area.

Bafana wasted no time and put the game beyond the Zebras in the 67th minute when Shaune Mogaila slotted the ball home to hand the home side a 2-1 victory in Durban.

Morena Ramoreboli’s charges have now moved up to the top spot in Group A with four points while Botswana find themselves sitting in second place a point behind South Africa

The South African national team are now set to take on Eswatini in their final Group A encounter which is scheduled to take place at Princess Magogo Stadium on Tuesday evening.
