Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Thulani Serero has hinted he could be on his way out of the club following the departure of manager Frank de Boer.
Serero has been in Amsterdam for five seasons having joined from Ajax Cape Town, spending the duration of that time under the former Dutch international’s coaching.
Serero seems poised to follow de Boer out the door following Ajax’s capitulation in the Eredivisie, throwing away a lead to blow the title on the final day.
‘I don’t know what will happen, but I have been there for a long time and I think I will have to make some decisions when I come back from the national team,’ Serero told KickOff.
‘I really don’t know. I think for me, personally, I have been there too long with the same manager and I have gotten used to the club and the way of playing and everything, but now that the coach is gone I also see that a lot of players are moving on.’
The player emphasised he will have to think carefully about his future, for he has yet to commit to a course of action.
‘I cannot give you an answer, but I think things will be clear when I get back to Amsterdam. I have been there for almost five years so maybe, I don’t know. It depends, so maybe.’
