Bafana Bafana forward Percy Tau believes the South African national team are capable of playing at the highest level following their victory over Morocco in the Afcon qualifier.
South Africa claimed a memorable victory over Africa’s number one in honour of the late Clive Barker following their 2-1 victory at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.
The South African national team have already qualified for the Afcon in Ivory Coast next year but managed to finish top of the group K standings with seven points while morocco placed second in the group with six points.
Tau believes the team continues to grow but is confident Bafana can test themselves against the world’s best.
“I feel we are growing as a team, this is good progress,” Tau told SuperSport TV.
“We can also show people that we are able to play at the highest level. We can build on this performance. We still have more in ourselves and we will improve on that.
“We are happy we played here and we have the numbers of the fans. We are so grateful they came out and gave a good atmosphere. We enjoyed it and I’m proud that we are here and won.
“I’m happy to be fully fit and I can only build on my performances. I’m still going to grow.”
“We are still growing as a team.”
