Bafana Bafana captain Ronwen Williams has called on all South Africans to continue to support the team as they take on Morocco in the last 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations.
South Africa made their way to this stage of the tournament after playing out to a goalless draw against Tunisia in their final Group E encounter.
As a result, Bafana finished second in Group E with a total of four points after three matches played.
Williams, who will captain the side against Morocco, believes his side cannot make it through to the next round without the support of the country.
“I would like to urge all South Africans to stand by us through thick and thin,” Williams said.
“Like every other team, we need support, and this means everything. This sacrifice we make is not only for us, but also for everyone back home too. It is our goal to make you proud.”
