Bafana Bafana star Themba Zwane is expecting an “exciting game” against Nigeria when the two sides meet in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Friday.
The Sundowns attacker was recalled for South Africa’s World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria and Zimbabwe following his showing for the national team during the Africa Cup of Nations.
South Africa are set to take on the Super Eagles when the two sides meet at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Zwane is expecting a “difficult” battle against Nigeria but is confident his side can do the job as Bafana look to exact their revenge after they were eliminated from the AFCON in the semi-finals by the same opponents.
“It always feels good to represent the nation. I’m happy to be there and to be given another opportunity to contribute to the national team,” Zwane told his club’s official website.
“Both games are very important. We just want to win the two games even though we know they are both going to be difficult, especially the match against Nigeria.
“It will be more difficult because we will be playing away from home. We played against them at AFCON and we know what they are capable of. It’s going to be an exciting game to watch and we will put up a good fight to ensure that we get the desired results.”
