Bafana Bafana star Themba Zwane is looking forward to playing against some of his teammates when they take on Zimbabwe in their second FIFA World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.
The Mamelodi Sundowns captain was named in coach Hugo Broos’ final 23-man squad following his performance for Bafana during the Africa Cup of Nations.
South Africa are set to take on Nigeria in their first qualifier on Friday before they travel to the Free State Stadium to face Zimbabwe in their second qualifier on Tuesday.
Zwane knows it will be a tough task to beat Zimbabwe but has urged his side to keep a positive mindset heading into the encounter.
“The match against Zimbabwe will also be an exciting one. Some of the guys we will be playing against are our teammates,” Zwane told his club’s official website.
“We know each other and this is why I say it will also be a difficult game but we are going there with a positive mind and we will try to win the game.”
