Banyana Banyana claimed a comfortable 3-0 victory over Zimbabwe in an entertaining international friendly in Harare on Thursday.
The South African Women’s national team clash with the Mighty Warriors was in preparation for the 2016 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon from 19 November to 3 December.
Banayana Bayana forward Thembi Kgatlana completed her brace while Leandra Smeda got on to the scoresheet to turn the visitors into victors. The impressive result indicates that interim coach Desiree Ellis certainly means business.
This was her second win in as many matches, following their 3-1 victory over Egypt in October.
Banyana Banyana are in Group A, together with hosts Cameroon, Egypt and Zimbabwe, while Group B consists of Nigeria, Mali, Ghana and Kenya.
The SA team is set to fly out to Cameroon on 14 November.
