Banyana Banyana have leaped up the Fifa Rankings to their highest ever ranking of 48th place after qualifying for Rio 2016 in Brazil.

The South African women’s national team have continued to improve their performance and while their Olympics ended in disappointment they have done a lot to improve their reputation in women’s football.

In the latest rankings released on Friday, coach Vera Pauw’s side have jumped from 60th place in 2014 to their highest ever position of 48th position in the world ranking.
