Fifa has confirmed that it has received nine registrations in the bidding process for the 2023 Fifa Women’s World Cup.
The South African Football Association (Safa) forms part of the largest-ever list of MAs in Fifa’s history to have shown their intention to submit a bid for a single tournament.
Fifa will now study the various bidding and hosting documents, while the member associations will have until 4 October 2019 to submit their respective bids to Fifa.
Prior to that they will be given the opportunity to attend a bidding information workshop and observer programme in June during the 2019 Fifa Women’s World Cup in France.
The global association affirmed that they will be implementing a fair and transparent bidding process, which includes a clear evaluation model, as well as a concrete commitment to sustainability and human rights.
