Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt has admitted that any of the club’s players are up for sale at the right price, with reports suggesting that both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are targeting their star men.
Over the last few days reports have intensified that Pirates are looking to submit a ‘big bid’ for the Clever Boys captain Thulani Hlatshwayo, while Chiefs have been interested in the services of the young star Thabo Monare from the start of the transfer window.
Hunt has now given those clubs an added hope in landing the signatures of Wits player by admitting that anyone could be sold, including himself.
‘As I said it before everybody is for sale, doesn’t matter who you are, even myself I’m for sale if the price is right. We don’t want to sell any player unless it’s the right price,’ said Hunt.
The South African coach was referring to comments he made earlier in the window.
‘My whole team is for sale. So if the price is right, you do what you have to do. I don’t want to lose anybody or sell anybody, but everybody is for sale and that applies to any club if you understand what I am trying to say. I don’t want to lose any one player, but they are all for sale,’ said Hunt in the beginning of the month.
With a few weeks still to go in the transfer window things at Wits could still change drastically with Hunt’s comments opening the door for approached for his key players.
