The Premier Soccer League have confirmed that the Absa Premiership clash between Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits has been postponed.

Both Gavin Hunt and Pitso Mosimane’s teams will be participating in continental tournaments, with Sundowns in the Caf Champions League and Wits in the Caf Confederations Cup.

The two sides were scheduled to do battle at the beginning of next month when the league resumes on 6 April. The Students, however, will be in action that weekend against Enyimba FC of Nigeria in the Caf Confed Cup.

The game has now been rescheduled to take place on 18 April with the Brazilians set to host last season’s champions.

The game could also have serious ramifications on the title race with Mosimane’s men just one point clear at the top of the table. The Clever Boys also have a lot to play for as they look to stay clear of the drop zone.

With the league leaders facing an already tight fixture scheduled, another game postponement could see Sundowns lose some ground at the top and have it all to do going into the final stretch.
