Tyson Fury wants to return to the ring in May, even though he is still provisionally suspended from boxing.

‘Breaking news. Return of the MAC. May 13th, working on an opponent, more news to follow,’ tweeted Britain’s former world heavyweight champion.

Fury beat Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko in his last fight in November 2015, but twice pulled out of a rematch.

He vacated his WBO and WBA belts last year, after admitting that he had taken cocaine to help with his depression, which saw his licence ‘suspended pending further investigation’ by the British Boxing Board of Control.

He was also charged with a rule violation by UK Anti-Doping (Ukad), after a urine sample from February 2015 showed traces of the banned stimulant nandrolone. He has denied any wrongdoing.

A provisional Ukad suspension was lifted on appeal, but Fury still faces an anti-doping tribunal, with a date yet to be set.
