India look to end to their TV-umpire boycott ahead of their five-match Test series against England starting in November.

According to the Mail Online, England could become the first team to play a Test series in India with the Decision Review System in play.

The quality of Hawk-Eye’s ball-tracking device was questioned by the Indian cricketers against Sri Lanka in 2008 and they haven’t used it since.

It was coach and then player, Anil Kumble, who was sceptical about using technology to make umpiring decisions, but since then he and captain Virat Kohli are open to the idea of introducing the DRS system for the England series staring 9 November.

Nothing has been formally agreed yet, but the ICC general manager Geoff Allardice, with the goal of standardising the use of DRS in international cricket, will travel with a Hawk-Eye representative to discuss the matter with the BCCI next week.

Kohli, the most influential voice in the Test team, recently said that India would ‘certainly look to introduce it in future’.

An ICC source told Sportsmail: ‘The players have seen how it is used and how it can impact positively. We need a clear, consistent approach from everyone.’
