The International Cricket Council (ICC) have announced the fixture list for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.
The tournament will kick off on October 5 with a rematch of the 2019 final between England and New Zealand at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
India kicks off their campaign against five-time World Cup winners Australia on October 8 in Chennai.
The Proteas’ first match will be against Qualifier 2 on October 7 in Delhi.
The showcase event will feature ten teams, with the first eight having already qualified through the World Cup Super League. The final two spots will be determined at the conclusion of the Qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe on July 9.
In a round-robin format, each team plays the other nine, with the top four qualifying for the semi-finals.
There will be ten venues in total: Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kolkata.
The warm-up matches will be held in Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram, and Hyderabad from September 29 to October 3.
