Russell Domingo and JP Duminy

Proteas coach Russell Domingo has returned to the squad following a family bereavement, while JP Duminy has returned to South Africa.

CSA have confirmed the return of coach Domingo, after he travelled to Port Elizabeth to be with his mother, who was in critical condition following a car crash. His mother passed away by the time he’d got there, and he’s been with his family since.

Domingo’s return will be a boost to the side as they look to build on their massive 340-run victory at Trent Bridge last week, with the third Test getting under way at the Oval on Thursday, but it will be without Duminy.

Duminy, who was dropped for the second Test after a lengthy period of poor form, has been released and has returned to South Africa, with his services no longer required for the final two Tests. It means the side are likely to remain unchanged from their victory in Nottingham, although Theunis de Bruyn and Aiden Markram do wait in the wings, should they opt for an extra batsman.
