Despite all the chaos that has been unfolding off the field at Cricket South Africa, the Proteas and all domestic players have begun training at the different franchises for the upcoming summer season of cricket.

According to the Evening Standard, England are confident of travelling to South Africa as soon as the IPL finishes in November – that is if CSA is able to host touring sides in its current dramatic state as well as handle Covid-19 restrictions.

CSA is yet to announce any sort of future domestic or international fixtures, but with the country set to move to level 1 on Wednesday that could change soon.

The British newspaper indicates that Cape Town could very well be the base for the bio-secure bubble, with three T20Is and three ODIs set to be played at Newlands and possibly Boland Park in Paarl.

England toured South Africa last summer and their limited-overs teams were originally set to tour down south next year again.

But, the subsequent cancellation of their Sri Lanka tour at the beginning of this year due to the coronavirus pandemic means there could be a gap for an earlier limited-overs tour to South Africa.

Given the financial mess CSA currently finds itself in, a visiting tour of England could mean great income for the organisation due to broadcasting rights.

England are the only cricketing nation to have hosted tours in recent times with the West Indies, Pakistan, Ireland and Australia all touring the country in bio-bubbles.
