Virat Kohli gushes over batting with AB de Villiers after the pair led their side to a five-wicket victory against the Delhi Daredevils on Saturday.
Kohli and De Villiers strung together a 118-run partnership before Kohli was dismissed on 70 off 40 balls. This set up the platform for De Villiers to take RCB home as he brought up an unbeaten 72 not out to claim a five-wicket victory.
This was the pair’s first century-stand since the 2016 IPL when they racked up five century-stands en route to leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore to the final.
‘It’s lovely batting with AB. We’ve done this many times in the past,’ Kohli was quoted saying on the ICC website. ‘I don’t need to say much, it’s been an honour for me to bat with him.
‘I was disappointed after getting out since we had the run rate in control. I wanted to finish it with three overs to spare and get the net run rate up. But the two points are important.’
Kohli also took to social media to praise his batting partner.
