Chris Morris has been added to the Proteas squad for the first Test against India starting at Newlands on 5 January.
The all-rounder has recovered from a groin injury and replaces fast bowler Duanne Olivier in the 15-man squad. This selected squad is only for the first match of the 2018 Freedom Series.
The Proteas will assemble in Cape Town on 2 January to begin preparations for the first Test of the three-match series.
Morris has played four Tests for South Africa taking 12 wickets at an average of 38.25. He has scored 173 runs at an average of 24.71.
His last match came for the Proteas was against England in the third Test defeat at Kennington Oval at the end of July.
