Head coach Grant Morgan is hopeful the arrival of Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan will spark the Durban Heat’s turnaround for the remainder of the Mzansi Super League.

Khan was recruited as the Heat’s international marquee player prior to the tournament, but hasn’t played yet due to a stint with Maratha Arabians in Sharjah’s T10 League.

‘There is no doubt that Rashid is going to add firepower to our bowling attack. I think we have bowled relatively well in this tournament so far, so if he comes and adds some more muscle it augurs well for us,’ said Morgan.

The Heat currently occupy last position in the six-team standings, after just one win in six attempts. They will play the second-placed Nelson Mandela Bay Giants at Kingsmead on Wednesday.

‘We might tweak one or two things to try and get that mojo going, but you don’t change your modus operandi or your attention to detail,’ added Morgan.

‘There will not be a lack of preparation or effort from everyone involved and we will go out there and try and win every game.

‘You try and take it game by game and win every one that you play in and enjoy it.

‘It does only take one person to put in a big performance and we have been speaking about it at length.’
