In another thrilling, high-scoring One-Day Cup match, the Dolphins clawed their way back into an exciting contest at Centurion to beat the Titans by 12 runs on Sunday.
Batting first, the Dolphins scored 308-7 off their 50 overs, Andile Phehlukwayo top-scoring with a powerful 69 off 61 balls (5×4, 3×6, S/R 113.11), with an explosive innings from Senuran Muthusamy (43 off 28 balls, 4×4, 1×6, S/R 153.57) helping to lift the visitors beyond 300.
Dane Vilas (54 off 53 balls) and David Miller (47 off 61 balls) had earlier built on the good start by Vaughn van Jaarsveld (27) and Morne van Wyk (30).

Pick of the Titans bowlers was the ever-impressive Lungi Ngidi, who snapped up 4-47 off his 10 overs (econ 4.70), while Henry Davids (2-53) was also among the wickets.
Chasing 309 for victory, Davids (22) and Tony de Zorzi put on 61 for the first wicket in 13.4 overs, after which De Zorzi and Theunis de Bruyn raced to a 114-run stand for the second wicket to put their side in the driving seat, before De Zorzi fell for a superb 89 off 101 balls (7×4, 2×6).
De Bruyn (79 off 62 balls, 5×4, 4×6, S/R 127.41) and Heino Kuhn put on 50 for the third wicket, followed by a 55-run stand for the fourth wicket with Heinrich Klaasen (32 off 31 balls, 3×4) as the Titans sniffed victory.
Kuhn (47 off 43 balls) was run out by visiting skipper Khaya Zondo in the 47th over, four balls after Klaasen had been caught by Robbie Frylinck off Prenelan Subrayen during a frantic few overs that saw the Dolphins bowlers wrestle the initiative back from the Titans.

In a hectic four-over spell the Titans lost five wickets for 11 runs in the face of an exceptional bowling performance from the Dolphins as the hosts ended their 50 overs on 296-8, 13 runs short of their target.
Phehlukwayo once again proved his value with the ball at the death, returning the exceptional figures of 10-0-45-0 (econ 4.50), while Subrayen (2-50, econ 5.00) was also excellent value for money with the ball.
The star of the innings, however, was the ever-reliable Frylinck, who snapped up 4-53 off his 10 overs (econ 5.30) as the Titans run-chase hit a serious speed bump. After a frustrating 4-Day Franchise Series campaign the Dolphins will be delighted to have hit the top of the One-Day Cup table with two wins from two.
