The Proteas’ opening batsman Quinton de Kock smashed his second successive century at the Cricket World Cup in their group game against Australia on Thursday.
The 30-year-old hit eight fours and five sixes in 90 balls to reach his 19th ODI hundred. He had already made a century in South Africa’s first win over Sri Lanka.
De Kock was batting at the Ekana Stadium, where he plays for the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL. He will stop playing international cricket at the end of the tournament.
In the end, off-spinner Glenn Maxwell bowled him out for 109 while he was trying to reverse pull in the 35th over.
South Africa was on 197-3 at the time.
