SA A claimed a commanding nine-wicket win over NPS to complete their tour of Australia.
Chasing 208 for victory, the tourists raced to their victory target with 70 balls to spare thanks to unbeaten half-centuries from Theunis de Bruyn and David Miller.
Opener De Bruyn top-scored with a fluent 90 (119 balls, 8 fours, 1 six), while Proteas one-day specialist, Miller followed his century in the previous match with 72 (71 balls, 4 fours, 3 sixes). The two put on 135 together for the second wicket, after captain Heino Kuhn (37) had earlier helped the visitors to a fluent start in the Queensland city.
The result was set up by the bowlers, though, after they had managed to bundle the home side out for 207 in 48.3 overs. All the bowlers shone, with the most successful being all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius, one of the stars of the tour, with his 2-20. Another player that had excelled with the ball during the trip was Andile Phehlukwayo and he returned figures of 2-27, while De Bruyn sent down an excellent 10 overs that produced 2-37.
The result meant South Africa ended third in the four-team competition. The final will be contested between Australia A and India A on Sunday.
