Colin Ingram was the pick of the South Africans on the English County Championship scene this week.

Ingram starred with an impressive knock of 178 as Glamorgan defeated Sussex by five wickets in a Division Two clash in Cardiff. He also chipped in with two scalps in the second innings.

Proteas paceman Dane Paterson claimed three wickets for 30 runs as Nottinghamshire beat Leicestershire by an innings and nine runs to go back to the top of the Division Two table.

SA-born Dutch international Colin Ackermann scored 116 runs in a losing effort. All-rounder Wiaan Mulder performed poorly with the bat, with scores of 11 and two, but took 3-102.

Leus du Plooy scored an underwhelming 48 in total as Derbyshire beat Middlesex by six wickets, as captain Dane Vilas scored 37 and 21 to help lead Lancashire to a four-wicket victory over Warwickshire in Division One.

Speedster Kyle Abbott put in a solid shift in Hampshire’s two-wicket win over Yorkshire, finishing with 4-123 and scoring a handy 38 runs in the first innings.

Spinner George Linde finished with match figures of 2-107 as Kent recorded their first win of the county season, beating Gloucestershire by eight wickets.

Struggling with illness, Hashim Amla could only manage nine and 19 as Surrey beat Somerset by three wickets. For Somerset, Marchant de Lange and former Proteas spinner Roelof van der Merwe took 2-61 and 2-28, respectively.
