Imam-ul-Haq’s half-century took Pakistan into a 58-run lead as they posted 100-1 at tea on day two of the Centurion Boxing Day Test.
The second session of day two of the Boxing Day Test saw the start of Pakistan’s second innings after the Proteas had been dismissed for 220.
Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Kock managed to dig the Proteas out of a hole with their contributions of 53 and 45 respectively. This gave the hosts a 42-run lead before lunch was called.

The Pakistan batsmen were cautious with their approach as they chipped away at the Proteas’ lead. They managed to reach 44 runs before the fall of the first wicket and it was the star of the first innings, Duanne Olivier, who removed Fakhar Zaman for 12.
Imam was dropped on 15 by Hashim Amla and the batter capitalised on his luck by scoring his third Test half-century.
His half-century stand with Shan Masood (22) took Pakistan to tea with 100-1 on the board, giving Pakistan a lead of 58.
