The West Indies pulled off a surprised but yet determined four-wicket victory when they beat England in the opening Test match at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton on Sunday.
The visitors looked the better team since the first day of play and needing only 200 runs to win after England were dismissed for 313 in their second innings, an impressive knock of 95 by Jermaine Blackwood saw the West Indies home in the final session.
Their second innings started shaky, however, with Jofra Archer and Mark Wood taking early wickets that saw the team from the Caribbean fall to 27-3.
But, good partnerships by Blackwood and Roston Chase, as well as a 68-run stand between the former and Shane Dowrich saw them take control of the match.
England, though, will be unhappy with a number of rued chances with Rory Burns and Zak Crawley spilling catches, while a consistent trend of no-balls throughout the Test match also rubbed insult into injury.
Both teams will now head to Manchester where the remaining two Test matches will be played at Old Trafford.
