Former West Indies bowler Michael Holding broke down in tears on live television this morning following an extremely powerful video tribute to Black Lives Matter.

In the video, broadcast prior to the start of the first Test between England and the West Indies in Southampton, Holding and former English women’s cricketer Ebony Rainford-Brent reflect on racism in cricket.

Rainford-Brent breaks down in tears herself, saying she always have to prove herself to other people as the first black player to ever represent the England women’s team, while Holding speaks about the challenges West Indies players faced on tours to England as well as the magnitude of the South African rebel tours under apartheid.

After the video tribute, Holding chatted to fellow pundits Ian Ward and Nasser Hussain on live TV about how important education is in tackling racism in societies across the world – and then he started crying.
