SASoccermag editor Wade Pretorius challenges Bafana Bafana international Dean Furman to put his Premier League knowledge to the test.
UPDATE: Unfortunately for Furman, not only were Chelsea humbled by Arsenal but the South African international midfielder came unstuck with just four correct match picks without picking up any exact scores. Our editor picked up six correct predictions including two exact scores for a total of 13 points and the victory in week 6.
Furman, who like last week’s pro Akani Simbine, is a Chelsea fan but his allegiance stems from his time spent at the club. The SuperSport United midfielder joined the Blues at the age of 9 and continued his development at the London club until he was 18.
‘My favourite memory is probably being a ball boy on Champions League nights,’ Furman tells SASoccermag.
‘And obviously the Champions League win in 2012 over Bayern is another special memory for me.’
Looking ahead to the standout fixture of week 6, Furman predicts a 2-1 win for his beloved Chelsea away at London rivals, Arsenal.
‘We always beat Arsenal.’ says Furman. ‘It’s been like that since Didier Drogba used to tear them apart and now they can’t handle Diego Costa.’
