SportsClub selects the Premier League Team of the Week as Sadio Mane bagged a double in a big win for Liverpool, while Richarlison and Ruben Neves shone against each other in an entertaining draw, writes DEAN WORKMAN.
Formation 4-3-3
Goalkeeper: Wayne Hennessey (Crystal Palace)
The Welsh shot-stopper put in an impressive display as his side beat newly promoted Fulham 2-0 in their Premier League opener at Craven Cottage. Hennessey pulled off a string of early saves to deny the home side before Palace opened the scoring through Jefferey Schlupp. The keeper then made further saves to keep his clean sheet intact as Palace went on to score a second and take home all three points.
Right back: Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace)
The young defender was one of the standout performers in Palace’s 2-0 win over Fulham. Wan-Bissaka provided his side with bundles of energy down the right flank both in defence and on the attack. The defender drove his way forward and then slipped in Wilfried Zaha for Palace’s second which wrapped up the game for the Eagles.

Centre-back: Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham Hotspur)
The Belgium defender was one of his side’s best players in their 2-1 win over Newcastle United. The defender not only got his name on the scoresheet with his sides opener, but he was also a rock at the back as the defender completed the most passes and clearances in the game.
Centre back: Aymeric Laporte (Manchester City)
The French defender produced an accomplished performance as helped his team to a 2-0 win over Arsenal. Laporte was solid when defending and excellent with ball at his feet as he looked to start the City attack off from the back, he also offered a threat in the opposition box from set pieces throughout.
Left back: Luke Shaw (Manchester United)
The English left-back put a tough period at Manchester United behind him with a standout performance in his side’s 2-1 win over Leicester City on Friday night. Shaw was solid at the back while also he also got forward to great effect scoring United’s second goal of the game to wrap up the three points before Jamie Vardy’s late consolation goal.
Right centre midfield: Paul Pogba (Manchester United)
Despite only returning from his world cup heroics on Monday, the French midfielder put in a superb performance with captains’ armband on as he led Manchester United to a 2-1 victory. Pogba opened the scoring for his side with a 3rd minute penalty and remained influential throughout as he bossed the midfield at Old Trafford.

Centre midfield: Ruben Neves (Wolvehampton Wanderes)
The Portuguese midfielder marked his Premier League debut with a star showing to help his side earn a point in a 2-2 draw against Everton. Neves scored his side’s equaliser just before half-time with a sublime free kick which left Jordan Pickford with little chance as his strike flew into the top corner. The 10-men Toffees may have grabbed the lead again, but Neves, 10 minutes before time, picked out Raul Jimenez at the back post with a pin-point cross and the striker headed in to secure a point on his side’s Premier League return.
Left centre midfield: Jorginho (Chelsea)
The former Napoli man showed just why Maurizio Sarri wanted him at Stamford Bridge with a dominant display against Huddersfield. The Italian was smooth in possession as he controlled the tempo of the game, while he also showed his composure with a cheeky penalty which doubled his side’s lead.
Right wing: Richarlison (Everton)
Everton’s new signing was the star for his side as his double earned a point for the Toffees who played the entire second half with 10-men. Richarlison opened the scoring on 17 minutes when the ball fortuitously fell to his feet from a free-kick, the Brazilian made no mistake in smashing his shot into the back of Rui Patricio’s net. The forward then gave his side the lead after Phil Jagielka’s red card and Neve’s equaliser, he picked the ball up drove into the box and expertly curled his shot beyond the keeper into the right-hand corner. Everton went on to draw the game but Richarlison’s performance would have pleased manager Marcos Silva.
Striker: Callum Wilson (Bournemouth)
The English striker produced a stellar performance as he grabbed a goal and an assist in his teams 2-0 win over Cardiff. Wilson set up Ryan Fraser to open the scoring with a pinpoint low cross. The forward then won a penalty, but he could not beat Neil Etheridge in the Cardiff goal. The striker, however, dusted himself off and managed to wrap up the three points with a goal of his own in injury time.
Left wing: Sadio Mane (Liverpool)
The Senegalese international was the standout performance as he scored a double to help guide his side to a 4-0 win over West ham United. Mane got his first just before half-time as he was in right place to tap home a James Milner cross. Sane then got his second and his side’s third not long after the restart. The forward was slipped in by Roberto Firmino and made no mistake in thumping his shot into the bottom corner.
