Brazil and Portugal has joined France in the World Cup knockout rounds after they both secured wins in their penultimate group stage game on Monday.

Portugal 2-0 Uruguay

Portugal sealed their progress to the last 16 on Monday after claiming a 2-0 win over Uruguay through two second half goals by Bruno Fernandes at the Lusail Iconic Stadium.

The Portuguese side opened the scoring in the 54th minute when Fernandes’ cross missed the head of Cristiano Ronaldo and flew straight into the net.

The Manchester United midfielder completed his brace in injury time from the penalty spot as Portugal moved to the top of Group H with six points after two matches.

Brazil 1-0 Switzerland

Brazil secured their progression to the knockout stages of the World Cup after defeating Switzerland 1-0 on Monday.

Casimiro netted the only goal of the game at Stadium 974 to ensure Group G leaders Brazil qualify for the next round.

Korea Republic 2-3 Ghana

Mohammed Kudus bagged a brace to inspire Ghana to a dramatic 3-2 win over South Korea on Monday to keep alive their hopes of reaching the last 16.

Mohammed Salisu and Kudus scored for Ghana in the first half to give them the lead.

Cho Gue-two sung’s goals in three minutes helped the Koreans come back, but Kudus’s goal in the middle of the second half won the game for Ghana.

Cameroon 3-3 Serbia

Cameroon fought back from two goals down to earn a thrilling 3-3 draw against Serbia at the World Cup on Monday as both teams kept their hopes of reaching the round of 16 alive.

Cameroon scored first with a goal from Jean-Charles Castelletto, but Serbia took the lead with goals from Strahinja Pavlovic, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, and Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Vincent Aboubakar and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting then scored, giving Cameroon and Serbia their first point in Group G before Brazil and Switzerland play later in the day.
