England captain Harry Kane will undergo an ankle scan two days before his team faces the United States in the World Cup, according to reports on Wednesday.
Kane left the Khalifa International Stadium on Monday with an ankle brace after England’s 6-2 victory over Iran, but on Tuesday he participated in a light training session.
On Friday, Gareth Southgate’s squad will face the United States knowing that a victory will guarantee them a spot in the knockout round.
Kane, the tournament’s leading scorer in Russia, has a history of ankle injuries.
