Brandt Snedeker and Brooks Koepka proved to be a power combo for the Americans, with the former sinking putts from all over the greens and the latter overpowering the Minnesota golf course. Team USA picked up its lone point of the afternoon with a 5&4 victory over Martin Kaymer and Danny Willett.
Rory McIlroy and rookie Thomas Pieters had a big task in competing against Matt Kuchar and Dustin Johnson, but the Europeans cruised home thanks to an eagle by McIlroy. They won the match 3&2.
