Trevor Fisher Jr tied for third place at the Portugal Masters in 2015 and returns to Oceanico Victoria Golf Club this week with fond memories.

The South African has battled to make the weekend in the last two months, missing five cuts in seven starts worldwide.

Fisher broke on to the European Tour with a 2015 victory at the Africa Open in East London, which he backed up with a tie for third place in Portugal.

He’s been through highs and lows this season, with four top 20s and 10 missed cuts.

Returning to Portugal should be a breath of fresh air for the 37-year-old, who has nine victories on the Sunshine Tour.

Last year he shot three rounds in the 60s at Oceanico Victoria Golf Club, including a Sunday 67, to share third place with Anthony Wall and Eduardo de la Riva.

England’s Andy Sullivan ran away with the tournament on 23 under par, nine strokes clear of runner-up and compatriot Chris Wood.

Fisher made six bogeys and one double during the week, a clear sign of his affinity for the coastal track. He’ll be looking for a repeat performance to ensure his tour card for next year.
